Servants & Stewards

Servants & Stewards

1 Corinthians 4:1 (NKJV) Let a man so consider us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God.

God considers you His servant and His steward.  Those aren't just descriptions for a select group of people that are in spiritual leadership, or pastors, or teachers, but for all believers.  We are all servants and stewards, no matter where God has us sprinkled across the globe.

We're servants, or under-rowers in His kingdom.  That means our role is to get our direction from God, and do what He wants us to do.  It's a privilege to serve Jesus in these last days as He pours out His Holy Spirit in wonderful ways.

We're stewards. A steward was a house manager.  That meant he had full control of all the master's things, but owned nothing. He was responsible and accountable to his master to be faithful with all his stuff.  As a steward of God's Word, we are responsible to be faithful with it, sharing it with believers and unbelievers alike.

Perhaps you've never seen yourself as a steward, one who will give account for their lives before a holy and righteous God!  But now that you do, take some time to seek the Lord for this season in your life, asking for specific direction and confirmation. You can be sure of this: He will answer that prayer.

In Him,
Pastor Ed
