Can a Mormon who professes Jesus Christ as his Lord, Savior and Redeemer be saved and still be in the Mormon church?
Praying in tongues....Can you bring it on, so to speak? I was recently at a conference with a well-known Christian preacher who proceeded to pray in tongues over the assembly. She appeared to "bring it on", and suggested you start your day with it. It did not appear real to me or my guest, a non-Christian with me. She has asked about the Bible's instructions for it & if this was a real example of it or not. I never have spoken in tongues, so I can't answer her for an absolute. This was not done how I have normally seen it. Can you give me some insight to share with her?
What are Jehovah's Witnesses weddings like? Is there a standard ceremony?
I am going to a church right now that is preaching on the baptisim of the Holy Spirit. They are teaching that it is a different thing than receiving Christ upon salvation, but the actual baptism of the Holy Spirit. Is this biblical?
What does the bible say about "speaking in tongues?" I heard one pastor state, "if you do not speak in tongues, then you are not filled with the Holy Spirit". I've always believed some Christians are anointed with the gift of tongues. While other believers may not be. In some denominations speaking in tongues is never talked about or experienced/practiced.Can you shed some light on this question?
Is there any archeological or historical proof that the people and places mentioned in the Book of Mormon existed?

I use the 92% accurate NASB Bible that scholars trust. Which Bible does Calvary Chapel use?
Could you direct me a reading resource for church attendance? I have done my own search and there is a lot of information on why Christians should attend church regularly, but I'm looking for information more specifically to situations where Pastors make you attend every thing held in the church and if you don't you either get a guilt trip or are not considered an active member, have your prioritys mixed up, etc. I have been through situations like this for years and I'd really just like to know what God requires me to do when there are several services or events at the church weekly, whether or not I am required to go to them all or not. Thank you
I have many homosexual friends and acquaintances and also have a nephew who decided he is gay - who also accepted Christ at one point in his life by the way - as well as a transsexual acquaintance. While I agree with the scriptures that you have posted regarding homosexuality I also agree that it is a choice, not innate with birth as some claim it to be. And while I certainly believe that God can save anyone, it occurred to me recently that of all the sins of our Biblical examples, such as David actually going so far as to have a woman's husband killed in order to make his marriage to her appear honorable, and God still calling him a man after His own heart, that there is no history that I am aware of a homosexual example of forgiveness or redemption. There are many stories of murderers and rapist, adulterers etc in scripture, situations that are extremely dire and only redeemable by the grace of God, but none of a saved homosexual. This is very disturbing to me especially in light of my nephew, and wondered if you would share your thoughts, insights and/or meaning of this and a possible approach I could take with those who have chosen this path, especially the people who were once Christians and/or still claim to be. Does "once saved always saved" still apply to them? It seems way more difficult then approaching any other situation like someone in prison for murder or someone suffering from drug abuse, because we have no biblical example to show God's forgiveness and grace. (Not that there is specifically for drug abuse - that's relative to staying sober, as I understand.) But I am at a loss to something as severe as homosexuality and transsexuals. I know God can do ANYTHING - it's all in His control...I seem to be missing something somehow. I appreciate anything you could help me with... Thanks!
A few years ago our daughter gave me a CD series titled "Spiritual Gifts" by Pastor Ed Taylor. I very much liked listening to it. I belong to a Methodist church in Cape Coral, FL and am a member of a Life group which meets on a weekly basis. What I'd like to know is - Is there a study guide to go along with this CD series? I think my group might like to listen to the CD together, but it would be helpful if there was a study guide with questions to review after listening to each part. Could someone please contact me to let me know (one way or the other) if there is something like this.
My husband has a huge video gaming addiction; we have stopped working in the church and stopped actively seeking the Lord. We argue about it and it causes a lot of anger for me and some what makes me discouraged spiritually. I'm upset because I feel like his playing has ruined a lot of things for us as a marriage and now my 7 year old son also wants to play without limits. Is it wrong for me to pack up the game and somewhat force him to stop? Or should I just wait for him to realize one day?
Salome (Hebrew, "Shelomit"), sometimes venerated as Mary Salome, was a follower of Jesus who appears briefly in the canonical gospels and in more detail in apocryphal writings. She is sometimes identified as the wife of Zebedee, the mother of James and John, two of the Apostles of Jesus, and sometimes also as the sister of Mary, mother of Jesus. Does this mean Salome is the aunt of Jesus? Apostles John and James are actually his cousins?
One of my co-workers is looking for a Church. Is there a Calvary Chapel near Fort Morgan? Or do you know of any good Bible teaching Church in that Area?
It is a cultural habit for the churches in the US not visit their members? How does that affect or impact the body of Christ? The physical presence of the body of Christ has better impact on people than technological resources. People need to hear and see what we have to say. It is a way to show that we really care. Visit a friend or a person who is looking for change in their life lets create an outreach program that can visit and encourage new members on their walk with God. I don't think through email we can express that we care for somebody who is coming to church. However, I admire and pray for Calvary Chapel outreach programs God bless this ministry very much. Great Job!!
