If a saved person had backsliden and was living in sin, then died would they still go to Heaven? It doesn't sound like it in 1 Corinthians 6:9-11.

What does the bible say about "speaking in tongues?" I heard one pastor state, "if you do not speak in tongues, then you are not filled with the Holy Spirit". I've always believed some Christians are anointed with the gift of tongues. While other believers may not be. In some denominations speaking in tongues is never talked about or experienced/practiced.Can you shed some light on this question?
Can a Mormon who professes Jesus Christ as his Lord, Savior and Redeemer be saved and still be in the Mormon church?
Praying in tongues....Can you bring it on, so to speak? I was recently at a conference with a well-known Christian preacher who proceeded to pray in tongues over the assembly. She appeared to "bring it on", and suggested you start your day with it. It did not appear real to me or my guest, a non-Christian with me. She has asked about the Bible's instructions for it & if this was a real example of it or not. I never have spoken in tongues, so I can't answer her for an absolute. This was not done how I have normally seen it. Can you give me some insight to share with her?
I am going to a church right now that is preaching on the baptisim of the Holy Spirit. They are teaching that it is a different thing than receiving Christ upon salvation, but the actual baptism of the Holy Spirit. Is this biblical?

Obedience is my topic. Is there a New Testament equivalent to the Old Testament people of the wilderness being held back in the wilderness because of their unbelief and subsequent disobedience? I heard a sermon where God will eventually put his children on the shelf, so to speak, if they continue to disobey Him, and thus they have no useful life as a Christian. If this is true, how do I go on feeling 'stuck'; if it is not true, then it seems unfair that we get an unlimited number of 'do-overs' when the Israelites apparently had reached God's limit. If God is the same yesterday, today, and forever, how can we have something more than what Old Testament people had?
Firstly, I would like to thank you for your mp3 archive. As I read my daily devotions I listen to your message that corresponds with the bible chapters the I read. Your website makes it very easy to find and listen to each address and make my devotional life that much deeper and richer. However, this leads me to my question. Today I read John 12:25 and it lead me to believe that because I hate my life that I may be hindering my spiritual growth and threatening my walk with the Lord. Admittedly, I have been very depressed over the year but I continue to seek the Lord and his word for the joy that He promises. So, with regards to "while the man who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life", does this mean that I will always and forever detest my life because I haven't found God's joy?
If you are truly a Christian and want to be delivered from a addiction. Will God always deliver you from it?
I have a question about the book The Shack. I have recently been meeting christains that really like that book. I haven't read it and not sure I want to because I have heard it doesn't go along with the Bible. How does it and doesn't it go along with the Bible and what points can I bring up to those people to make them think about The Shack?
Is it biblically acceptable for a believer to tattoo themselves with Christian art?
I just read an article that said that the gift of tongues has been absent for the past 1900 years, and that miraculous signs as such ceased when the scripture was completed (1 Cor. 13:8). I always hear people say this and it's really getting on my nerves. I thought that the scripture is not completely fulfilled until Jesus comes back to get us...or is that not what they are talking about. Can you explain what the "that" is in 1 Corinthians 13:10...I'd like to be able to better understand what is being talked about in that verse.
I am a new Christian. I am having great trouble finding a church. I would love to go to your church but I live in Thornton. The churches I have tried are full of Sunday Christians and the pastors just don't seem to be truly filled with the Holy Spirit. I am looking for a church that preaches the truth, a conservative view, and not all lollopped up. That teaches being a Christian is not easy and takes alot of work. I want a pastor that stresses the importance of reading the Bible. I love to listen to Pastor Ed Taylor's sermons on the radio and John MacArthur. Any suggestions that I could get would be great.
I was hoping that you would be able to clarify the meaning of I Corinthians 14:34-35?
When it is said that there is no prophecy in current times does that include the situation where someone prays for you and says they hear the voice of God giving direction, in example someone had prayed over me before and said that the Lord wanted me to go to another state and that He would work with me in that state....are saints able to still give direction in spirit?
I am a young man about to enter into the US Marine Corps. My question is that since there would be extended periods away from my spouse should I consider marriage? I know that in 1 Corinthians 7 it speaks of the need to not "deprive each other" except for short periods of time and only by mutual consent. I purchased the CD of Pastor Taylor's message on 3/17/10 "It's ok to be single & ok to be married" but it doesn't seem to speak to my particular situation. Since I would be away from my wife for a long time would I be setting us up for temptation? I know that God has called me to be a Marine (for a minimum of 20 years) and I love my girlfriend (both of us are totally committed to the Lord) but should I be single because of this particular calling? I have entreated the Lord and have received no definite answer. What should I do?
