Meet Sheryl
Family:
I've been married to my best friend, Glenn for 30 years (this November). I
have 3 grown children (all married). So all together, I have 2 sons, 1
daughter, 2 daughter-in-laws and 1 son-in-law. They are all great and the
most wonderful part about having married children is the grandchildren that
they give to us. We are now "Lollie & Pop's" to Jack, born this summer.
We are so happy and we can't wait to have more.
Hometown:
I don't really have a home town. I moved all over Southern CA as a kid, and
then on to AZ, MO, IL, IA....
Where do you live now?
Parker, CO
What's your role at Calvary Aurora?
Marriage Ministry/Wedding Ministry
What's your favorite thing at the church?
When we first moved to Parker and were looking for a church, we were really
struggling trying to find a church that was near us. We just didn't have a
peace about the churches that we were visiting. We knew that there was a
Calvary Chapel in Aurora, but we were concerned about the drive. We decided
to make that drive and see what it was all about. My oldest son, after
several weeks asked us about the church and we said, we really love the
teaching, its just the drive is a bit long. He told us "Mom and Dad, if
your learning and growing in the Lord, its worth the drive." That is my
favorite part about Calvary Chapel Aurora, I am learning and growing in my
relationship with the Lord.
What's your favorite thing about teaching?
I love to watch the kids astonishment when they figure something out. I
love the way they express themselves.
Do you have a fun classroom anecdote to share? When I was teaching
Kindergarten, I had a student named Sam. He was having the hardest time
remembering the number "7" when he was counting. I was trying to help him
by relating the number 7 with 7-up. After much practice, I said "Okay Sam,
your turn". He proceeded to count...1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6,........PEPSI, 8, 9,
10....
Oh well, I tried!

Describe "the perfect day":
A perfect day! Waking up by having my husband bring me a cup of coffee!
Listening to him read the bible to me. Praying together. Making breakfast
for the two of us. Watering my flowers or planting some. Getting a phone
call from my kids to just catch up for a bit. Taking a nice power walk.
Sitting down on the couch and reading for a bit or sewing for a bit on a
quilt. Having my favorite little family come for a visit. (there are many
favorites!!) Listening to Glenn record and play music in his studio.
Having a BBQ dinner. Climbing into bed with a good book, Lights out!!
PERFECT DAY!!!
